Happy Mothers Day from VAsolutionsNOW!
May 8, 2010
Being a great mother is a very exhausting and hard role to play, believe me I KNOW! Being a first time and single mom for the past four years have been very challenging, however very rewarding. Every day has a new surprise in store for us, every day is unpredictable, we never wake up knowing what our little blessings will do next.
Messes, arguing, stubbornness, yelling, crying, screaming, tantrums, pinching, throwing toys, flinging food, coloring on the walls, broken things, demands, dirty diapers, tuns of extra laundry, missing items, flushing my favorite bracelet down the toilet while wearing all of my make up (and yes, I mean all of it)…
Would I do it again? ABSOLUTELY! And I’m sure you would too.
No matter how big the mess, no matter how smelly and messy things can possibly get at the end of the night when your child says “I love you, Mommy” makes every ounce of disappointment go away. With every hug and every kiss that melt us, it keeps us Mommies running strong!
We’d like to wish all you wonderful Mommies out there a very Happy Mothers Day!
The Warrior Dash: Are You A Warrior too?
April 29, 2010
“The craziest frickin’ day of your life! A fire leaping, mud crawling, beer drinking run from hell.”
Count me in!
Now honestly.. who wasn’t hooked by just those two simple sentences? That’s right! For the first time Warrior Dash has made it’s rounds to the Northeast and I am ecstatic to announce that this gal right here will be participating in Septembers festivities! Who will be joining me?
Here’s the deal, months ago I took a look at Warrior Dash and realized that this is something that I definitely DO NOT
want to miss. I figured that the 5k being in September and it only being January, I had plenty of time to register and not have to worry about a thing. WRONG! A few of my friends and I were discussing the race a few weeks ago and out of curiosity I wanted to see when registration was going to start. To my surprise registration had not only started but almost every single dash was filled and there were only 3 slots left! Seemed like a pretty good opportunity to jump on the horse since I knew I was serious about partaking in the event. So if you are a warrior fighting for the ultimate Flava Flave steel helmet, who also thinks you have some time to buy before you register… you might want to think again…
Looking to save a little dough? Not a problem! If and when you do register type in the promo code CANYON and receive $5 off the registration fee. Worked like a charm for me when I registered for the Northeast region and according to Warrior Dash Facebook Discussion Forum the code seems to be working well for other areas.
With such an intense 3.23 hellish miles on the way I definitely need to start training! Starting tomorrow I will be hitting the gym harder then I ever have preparing for the big day! My daughter and I will be traveling around the area and playing in every which playground that has the most equipment, so be on the look out for a crazy lady going nuts on the monkey bars! This training technique was highly recommended by Denver’s Personal Training Examiner, Jonathan Sabar. I will do just about anything to dominate this race!
Are you or someone you know attending the Northeast Region or any Warrior Dash event in your area? How have you been training for the big day? What are you looking forward to the most, crawling underneath barbed wire in sloppy mud, running through the fire, perhaps the ice cold brewsky waiting for you at the finish line?
Good Luck to all you Warriors out there! I look forward to seeing you there!
Fearless, Determined, and Hitting Your Goals
March 12, 2010
When you were younger you would strive to take your very first step and would do anything to make sure that it happened. No matter how many times you’ve fallen or on your behind and stumbled into things, sometimes bruising yourself.. you managed to brush off the pain and get right back on track. You refused to be defeated, you were unstoppable, you were on a mission, and nothing was going to get in your way.
Looking back and reminiscing at your accomplishments, do you feel as if you are that same person? Do you still believe that nothing is unattainable? Somewhere down the road we’ve lost our insight and imagination that anything is possible and that the only way for anything to be achievable is if self doubt doesn’t get in the way.
When did the word “can’t” become so strong, and believable?
When you were younger if someone said that you couldn’t do something, you made sure to prove them other wise, right? What happened?

It all starts with a vision. Are you willing to challenge that vision and making it into your reality, or will you feed into negativity and brush your dreams aside? Ask yourself, “What is my I.Q level?” What will make you throw in the towel, how dedicated are you to fighting your way through obstacles to reach the outcome that you desire? Define what it will take for you to reach your “I quit” point and figure out ways to tackle and avoid those challenges before they arrive.
Whatever your dream and mission is I applaud you, I challenge you to do whatever it takes to make that happen. Keep your eyes on the goal and stay focused. When in doubt seek guidance, someone who you know that will cheer you on and give you the necessary support for you to stay on track. Always remember why it is that you are jumping through these hoops.
Anything, and I mean anything that you put your mind to, you can do it. No matter what anyone says, no matter how impossible or unreasonable your goal may seem to others- achieve them, and not for anyone other then yourself.
All we need is a little “me” time
March 12, 2010
Think back for a second and ask yourself “When is the last time I was able to take a walk, or admire my surroundings?” Better yet, ask yourself “When is the last time I was able to do something I wanted to do without having to worry if something else needed my immediate attention?”
Days have a habit of getting complicated, especially when you only have 24 hours to handle everything on your task list. Rather than feeling overwhelmed and like a one (wo)man band, why not try outsourcing your tasks?
For every challenge there is always a solution, we’re here to help!
Never feel guilty for wanting a little “you” time! Do not ever doubt for a second that you don’t deserve it. Learn to delegate tasks, whether it might be blogging, research, organizing emails and contacts, etc. Consult with a virtual assistant to find out which tasks you might be able to take off you plate so you can take that extra time out of your day to recuperate, even if it’s only for an extra 15 minutes.
What would you do with a few extra “me” hours per week?
